WORK
INVISIBLE BLACK COUNTRY
January - May 2021
After living in Lincoln for 3 years, I wanted to leave making sure everyone understood where I came from. My accent thick and tricky for others to understand, meant I had a hard time speaking 'normal' as many Black country people know we like to talk quickly.
The first few months arriving in Lincoln I resulted in saying I lived 'near Birmingham' to prevent the hassle of trying to explain where I lived. The last year at University I decided to make a point of standing up and showcasing the vast history and culture the Black country has to offer whilst highlighting how different our accent and dialect can be.

Four audio recordings of telephone conversations from different people from the Black Country discussing their time, it's history and encounters while living there. The audios were connected to the rewired telephones and played these conversations as though you were intruding on the conversation. A simple yet affective way to naturally divulge on the different accent and dialect being heard. I also wanted to demonstrate the visible difference of how the dialect looks so I replicated a sign which I often passed walking down the street on my lockdown walks asking politely in the Black Country spirt to pick up your dogs poo.
INVISIBLE CITIES
January 2022
Working along side Birmingham-born and visual artist Osman Yousefzada and peers at Birmingham City University we collaborated to create a variety of workshops and artwork to display within Selfridges in Birmingham City centre. Workshops allowed the public to interact and be apart of this wonderful collaborative piece.

My workshop titled 'Our Birmingham' allowed members of the public to write and draw (or a combination of both) parts of Birmingham which means something to them.
BIG SLEUTH
March - June 2017
I was chosen to be an Assistant Artist on the 'Big Sleuth' project in 2017. We worked accoriding to the design that was chosen by West Bromwich youth council and took part within the trail that went across Sandwell and Birmingham, all proceeds of the bears sold at auction went to Birmingham children hospital.
'Bearolution' now resides at Sandwell Valley.
POTTY FOX
May 2020 - On going
Boredom hit many of us during lockdown yet I think us creatives hit a brick wall. I needed something to be my creative outlet. I painted a large plant pot a few years ago for my parents as a Christmas present and after being encouraged by them both I decided to paint another. I thought why not sell them online?
I brought all the basic equipment and put 5 pots up for sale. All 5 gone within the first week. I carried this on week after week. Creating commissions learning new techniques and after a few emails to certain delivery companies (as some tend to use parcels as a football) learnt the importance of packaging!

I achieved a grant from University of Lincoln with Santander for small start up businesses in 2021, which allowed me to buy items such as a printer, new storage etc.

Now, I have a Larger set up within our garage/ make shift studio. I love it, a space I can be the messy artist that I am, whilst being challenged daily with a variety of commission designs.
